We first visited and toured Hobcaw Barony late in 2011 after watching the SCETV documentary on SC native Bernard Baruch and his daughter Belle. It was absolutely fascinating and well worth the $20 per person admission. Our tour leader was just outstanding (Lee Brockington) and afterwards I purchased a book on the Baruch family from the gift shop. Imagine my... More

If you want to find out what the rich and famous did for entertainment not so long ago, visit this site for lots of history and educational facts from a very informative guide. I enjoyed every minute, but if you are not historically inclined, you may want to skip this as the tour is over two hours. Some of our... More

Do plan ahead as you may miss out on this wonderful treasure started by Bernard Baruck and preserved by his daughter Belle. Do take the tour of this wonderful preserve of several plantations that hosted many dignitartes during World War II.

We were on vacation in Myrtle Beach for 2 weeks and signed our 5 and 7 year old boys up for the "Wild Wednesdays" program at Hobcaw Barony. They participated in the "Fins" and "Butterflies" programs on two seperate Wednesdays. Each program was 1.5 hours long and was ideal for kids 4 - 10. The programs were educational and hands... More
