As expansive as a football field, this is a beautiful and well maintained beach with great basic amenities. It's a wonderful walk to "the spit" where dolphins "strand" themselves to feed at low tide, the beachcombing is good, and the birding is amazing. There is no entrance fee, but there is a charge to park on weekends and during the... More

Miles and miles of sandy beach for you to bike, walk or jog. My dog enjoyed running after the birds. Plenty of space. Not crowded at all, very peaceful and serene. WE enjoyed shelling and just walking up and down the beach. The inlet near the beach where the parking lot is has dolphins at times. You can catch them... More

While vacationing in Charleston we visited Folly Beach, Isle of Palms, and Beachwalker County Park on Kiawah Island. Though it was a bit more of a drive, it was worth it. By far and away the most beautiful stretch of beach in the Charleston area. It was so much less touristy than Isle of Palms but still has the benefit... More

Great beach, clean sand, lifeguard...outdoor shower stand, changing rooms, picnic tables in shade. Boardwalk to the beach. The ONLY bad thing was that since I ran out of sunscreen, I had to pay big $$$ for a bottle at the snack stand! We would LOVE to visit this beach again when we travel to the area!!

It is the only way for the public to access the beach at Kiawah Island.

One of the most beautiful beaches in SC. Great, clean facilities. Take a right at the end of the boardwalk and walk toward the river. Even on a crowded summer day you can quickly get away from the crowds. The healthy and deep dune system is a rare treat as most other public beaches have destroyed tertiary and secondary dunes.
