It was a nice military museum presenting the history of Parris Island and the history of the Marine Corps. The displays were well laid out; the film gives you a good idea of what new recruits go through, and it is on an active military base. The museum is free. Make sure you get directions to the museum at the... More

Wonderful museum run by Marines. The 15 minute film was really well done. It gives a great view of what a new Marine must learn. No wonder they are the Few. Take time out and visiit here.

Upon entering, we were greeted by an elderly gentleman (a vet volunteer) who gave us an overview of the museum--and lots of other local info as well. We had planned on spending an hour or two here but ended up spending the entire afternoon! Many detailed displays with lots to read and learn.

Had the day off so we decided to visit the Museum. It was very interesting and informative. Not to mention that it is an active military base, there was training going on everywhere. Yep drill instructors yelling ... we enjoyed the day.

I visited recently with my husband, neither one of us served but found this to be a wonderful museum that gave us a better history and appreciation for the Marine Corps. While not a big museum, it is rich with history of the Marines on Parris Island and the overall historical timeline of this branch of service. I would visit... More

I recently had a chance to visit the Parris Island Museum with a Marine buddy of mine! It was a very enriching experience from a history standpoint. I learned a lot of the history of the Island and the Marine Corps that I NEVER IMAGINED. This place is AWESOME for any Beaufort Traveler!
