Not good! Why are we altering the earth for this thing. Don't Native American beliefs focus on harmony among all living and non-living things on the earth? Seems this is man trying to conquer nature yet again. One can't help but feel Rushmore is a little less of a blight on nature, as the sculpture seems to grow out of... more

If you travel to South Dakota, make sure to see this. It was very educational, and just a neat thing to see the progress and know how it all came about. The night show "Legends in Light" is not to be missed. It was extremely cool. The kids and adults loved it!!! more

The cost (June 2008) is $27 per car load or $10 per person whichever is cheaper. Very reasonable. Great museum and nice restaurant with reasonable prices. The view is spectacular and the project nothing short of monumental. Amount of rock moved is 10 times that of Mt. Rushmore. The family has done a great job of honoring the American Indian.... more

They really have a racket on this one. They scalp you $27 to get in. Once inside they have a fair movie that talks about how things got started on the site-not bad. Then? It is a high priced souvenir shop. It left me feeling down and taken. Skip it and go to Mt. Rushmore. In 100 years when things... more

We happened upon Crazy Horse before we got to Mount Rushmore (it was our planned destination). We paid the fee and went in - I don't even recall what the fee was. We were travelling by motorbikes and I know for sure we paid a discount because of this. Unlike some of the other posters I think it was well... more

What a joke! First $20 for us to enter the site. Then if we wanted to go to the bottom of the monument it would have been an additional $8. All you can see is the profile of Crazy Horse. At the rate they are going the monument will not be finished until 2102. For best results, Park the car... more

We happened upon Crazy Horse before Mt. Rushmore--not planned, but we decided to see it first anyway. We could see it from the side of the road, and if you don't wish to pay money or learn anything about it, then you could choose to do it that way. But we drove in, paid the fee and took our 6,... more

I've watched this monument, along with many, many, many other people, go from looking as if it might never get finished to getting faster and faster every day. The museums are spread out, but very manageable.. and beautiful to say the least. Something new and educational about the Lakota tribe is always being added. And the actual area is breathtaking.... more

I went here before Mount Rushmore. I am not American so perhaps do not have the same patriotic views about Mount Rushmore, but feel strongly about the way the aboriginal people were treated in the early days. I can see where the project was coming from, but is this really what the old Indian Chief wanted? Loads of people turning... more

Maybe it isn't fair to compare, but both times I've been to this memorial was after I went to Mt. Rushmore. Expecting something spectacular, the Crazy Horse Memorial is something of a let down. You can see Crazy Horse's face, but that's almost it. At the rate that they are working on this project, it will be done approximately sometime... more
