I was really skeptical of this. I said to the lady there, "I really don't want to pay $18, (it is now $9 a person, and free for kids 11 and younger) to go up and find out that it is just a crooked building." She asured me that it was something more then that but she really didn't even... more

My family-2 adults, 16y/o, 11y/o and 9y/o visited the Cosmos Mystery Area in June. The negatives-tour was quick, they gave some time for pictures but there was another group waiting to take the tour so we couldn't stick around too long. It made me feel nauseous. The positives-a big one is our teenager thought it was really cool! Anyone traveling... more

I still feel dizzy just thinking about it. My husband and I felt nauseaus after going through Cosmos, but our 6, 7 & 8 year olds loved it. I would say that this is a tourist trap, yet curiosity gets the better of you and you have to go in. Our young guide was charming, we went just before closing... more

The biggest disapointment in the blackhills. They put you in a shack thats unlevel and tell you look you are getting pulled to one corner. No kidding have these people never heard of gravity. They have a board that looks like it slanting uphill and pour water on it and tell you look water is running uphill. People must be... more

Went in 2006 , skipped it this time(2008)my wife 23 yr old son 19 yr old daughter enjoyed it more than I did .We had a great guide and it was worth $8.00, but it wasn't worth the hour wait for my group to go through, and of course the souvenirs in the gift shop are over the top $... more

I'm a skeptic. I worked at an amusement park with an attraction called "Casa Magnetica" and I knew how it worked by skewing perspective...making it look like balls were rolling uphill and such. I saw a bit of that here, but I can't explain why I felt nauseous when I entered the cabin, or why the ball seemed to bounce... more

As a kid ( 4 years old) this is all I remember about the black hills, and my brother who was 9 says the same thing. I visited again with a friend (now I'm 41), and it still is alot of fun. My neice (15) who visited the black hills recently, said it was her favorite thing in the hills... more

I went through the Cosmos tour for the fifth time yesterday. Some neighbors took me through as a child, and my friends and I loved it then for the mystery. Twenty-five years ago I took my child and he loved it. For the past couple of years, I have taken my grandchildren, and they beg to go back every time... more

my first question when we entered the area was...."how did all those trees grow up then back down"....a forest of arched over trees amongst a large valley of straight trees. Don't know, this is the Cosmos, the strangest place on earth, just heard it was a must see to strech your understanding in the law of physics. ok, we'll figure... more

We visited this shack on the side of a hill in amongst the trees. All the angles are such that they mix up your head to think gravity if pulling you off balance. We actually had to take a breather afterwards to get our balance (and stomachs) back on track. Great fun though. I figured out it all except for... more
