Just wanted you to know, we live in Mountain Rest, SC. We are a 3 hour drive to Chattanooga. We had gone to the Tennesee Aquarium 2 times and decided to check out the Atlanta Aquarium. There is no comparison. Who ever came up with your slogan Bigger isn't Better, Better is Better, hit it on the nose. Your facility... more

I've only been to a few aquariums--Monterey, Tampa and EPCOT. For me the Tennessee aquarium tops them all. As other reviewers have noted this one has a great flow to it--everyone seemed to move along at a good pace. And I think separating the exhibits into 2 buildings was a brilliant idea. It really helps to counteract fish overload. My... more

The aquarium has been mentioned to me several times (living not far away- only in Atlanta) but I've never made it up to see it. After travel changes, my boyfriend and I had extra time in downtown Chattanooga. We decided to fork out the $30 and go to the aquarium. It was a great time!! We had a lot of... more

My only regret is not spending more time there. The river side, especially, was noteworthy for its thoroughness and very creative layout. It may not be apparent to the casual visitor, but such an in-depth freshwater exhibit is definitely unique among any of the aquariums I've ever visited--allegedly it's the largest freshwater aquarium in the world. Overall, the aquarium did... more

We visited the ocean side first and was out in 1 1/2 hours. Was expecting a little more. The Butterfly exhibit was really nice but was small compared to others I have seen. We visited the aquarium a few years ago when on the rivers side existed. i was impressed with it then and was again on this trip. We... more

Our family loves aquariums and has visited several throughout the country. This is definitely one of the best we've seen. We especially enjoyed the many river themed exhibits! The layout of the buildings promote easy flow of traffic while maximizing individual views of the tanks, exhibits, etc. This aquarium is located in downtown Chattanooga and provides nice views on the... more

We tried a bunch of attractions in Chatt and this along with the IMAX in our opinion is the only thing worth visiting. The aquarium actually is two buildings so depending on crowd size you can go into the second building first and come back to the first building. We enjoyed the butterfuly room as well as petting the sting... more

We visited both the sea adventure and the rivers adventure. I really could not say which was better because they were both wonderful. My favorites were the butterfly room and the penguins. There is a lot of walking so wear comfortable shoes and allow yourself a few hours so you can take your time. We also took the TN River... more

The aquarium itself is divided into two buildings - river and ocean. It took us about 4 hours to get through both sections, and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of animals they had. more

We have seen the best the Japanese can offer in Osaka-and that is very impressive acquarium, and Orlando's Seaworld has some very good aquarium features BUT this place is first class. Highlights were the whole floor devoted the pipefish/seadragons, an incredible display; and the Butterfly exhibit, with 100s of butterflies flying around us. Needs whole day! more
