We love visiting the Cherokee national forest, we enter through Tellico Planes. There are so many beautiful sights, trails, campground, and the river. I love Bald river falls and baby falls. I climbed down to Baby Falls (located right after Bald River Falls on the left, there is parking) last summer, it is spectacular, couldnt gather the courage to jump... More

So many things to do and see. Geocahing was fun as well as enjoying the beauty and smells of the spring season. Fly fishing for trout on the Hiwassee River was awesome. I even saw a bald eagle cruising the river down low. Just a beautiful place!

The rivers are crystal clear you can see to the bottom of the river just like bathwater. The layout of the river nestled in the gorge at the base of... More

Best place to get away and get lost. If you want serenity, you can find it here. Don't go during hunting season unless you hunt of course.

My husband was transferred to this area and to my delight we are right next to Cherokee National Forest. It is a such a beautiful forest featuring numerous hiking trails, lakes, camping and majestic views . The main tourist attraction seems to be white water rafting and it must be great because in the Summer months it's very busy with... More

The Cherokee National Forest runs from the Tennessee/Ga state line north along the Tennessee/North Carolina state line to the northernmost Tennessee/Va state line. Essentially, the only part of the eastern-most part of Tennessee that is not in the Cherokee National Forest is the part that is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Headquarters for the Cherokee National Forest is... More

If you visit the Ocoee Gorge then driving up to Chilhowee campground is a must. Beside camping it has a day use beach area with many trails in the park. One of the best trails is to Benton Falls. Its a 60 plus foot fall, narrow at the top but fans out pretty wide down at the base, its a... More
