This is a nice place to learn local history you may be unfamiliar with. The staff is full of knowledge. The trail is nice for a stroll but nothing challenging which is fine for a break after hiking roan mtn adn roan state park. more

SSSHA is a nice stop in Elizabethton, TN. If you are interested in Revolutionary War and Native American history, then the interpretive center is worth a visit. The exhibits allow you to absorb information real easily. The site is part of the Overmountain Victory Trail, which accounts the revolutionary war in the ‘western front’.
