If I could rate this 10 stars I would! How interesting! Beautiful collection of Civil War era interiors, excellent historical interests, and told so eloquently by a wonderful volunteer! If in Franklin, this is a "must see"!

This was my first visit to the Lotz House even though I live in the area. Our family has visited hundreds of historic houses all over the country and in Europe. This was by far the best tour (and also the Carter House) I have ever been on. Ellen was our guide, and she was fantastic---very personable and knowledgeable about... More

Got the combo ticket. You can park right outside and then walk over to the Carter House...if not, then you have to walk a ways past the Carter House to the Lotz and then back...they are across the street but Carter's visitor center and parking is about a block away and in the summer, that's a long ways. Ellen was... More

Our tour guide was very good. He gave us a lot of very interesting information & was very patient with my 9 year old son. He absolutely loved the tour & stayed very intrigued throughout our tour. I would love to revisit sometime if I am in that area again. Lot of history here. We are homeschooling our son this... More

We were VERY LUCKY to have J.T. as our tour guide. He was the BEST tour guide we've ever had (and we'r enot young!). J.T. made the tour come alive and I could just picture the Lotz's and what they were going through during the battle. The battle of Franklin was not one I'd ever heard of. J.T. made it... More

This was our first stop on my husband and I's tour of 3 pieces of history. We bought the ticket that allowed us to see the Lotz House, Carton Plantation and the Carter House. The Lotz house was historical but not as war related as the other 2 were. It was kind of like a break from the blood and... More

We had a very interesting tour led by Ellen, who did a fantastic job and must have a great memory. I had read previous reviews about how great a guide J.T. was before visiting, but Ellen did not disappoint. The furnishings, etc. were as interesting as the house itself.

Very interesting property. Our tour guide, TJ, really made the history of the house come alive. Well worth the time.

We spent a delight couple of hours touring this battle damaged home and it's extensive collection of period antiques. Ellen, our guide, was charming and informative. Don't miss this treasure when visiting Franklin...
