Just north of Nashville, TN, this small living history museum is worth a stop. It has only a few employees to help you understand what life was like in the early days of the settlement of middle tennessee. I like the "how people lived" sites, and this one absolutely delivers. One house (Bowen Plantation) is chock full of original structure and artifacts, with great explanations. The other one is built instead using period materials, tools, and methods. While this means that some of it wasn't actually from 1789, it does mean that you can touch it, the guides... More
