Stayed in the park cabin which had two bedrooms, living room, bath, kitchen. Facilities were good and located right next to the lake with easy access to the hiking trails and fishing spots. The cabins are not new, but still in good shape. There are fireplaces in winter, and campfire spots all year round. Defidently recommend staying in this park,... More

This is one of my favorite in Tennessee. The land is different here, caves and over hangs, swimming for family, just a really well kept Park.

I am sure if we ever get to see it I can better rate it. There are no accurate signs and easy to get lost finding the entry to the park.

My husband and I have been to Pickett three times during different seasons. Each visit was unique and enjoyable. The Indian Rockhouse was my personal favorite hike. We went in the winter and the large icicles while scary were beautiful. My husband caught his trout limit every day during the spring. Some of the trails can be confusing, but take... More

The little lake with the arch over the lake is very scenic, the swimming area with the bluffs across the lake and swinging bridge are very picturesque. The Campground looks like it would be a bit crowded during busy weekend but the sites are very nice. I want to come back and and stay in one of the stone cabins... More

I'm very glad to read the negative reviews about Pickett State Park because it helps keep the less-than-desirables away. It leaves it for people like us who enjoy the slower pace in the middle of a natural paradise. We are a reitried couple who enjoy tent camping, although we stay a few days in cabins also every summer with our... More

My wife and I friends have been regularly (once or twice a year) visiting Pickett for 20 years or more and our daughter and now her husband and toddler have become regulars and cherish this gem of a park. It is a "rustic" state park. Don't expect fancy accommodations or an Olympic sized pool or a restaurant. Don't expect campsites... More

My wife and I are senior citizens who stayed at Pickett one day t in August 2009. We were overwhelmed by gnats at the 1st site we stopped to check out. We set-up our trailer at the 2nd site--not as many gnats. Unfortunately about two hours after we set-up a huge tree limb (about 10-12 inches in diameter) fell on... More

I grew up going to Pickett, and it has never let me down. From playing football and hide and seek in Hazard Cave, to hiking on the ladder trail, to exploring the natural arches, to hiking the Hidden Passage Trail (which has a waterfall that really isn't that hard to find) to taking a dip in the lake in February... Two families of 4 we meet each year in August to camp together. This year, 2008, we tent camped at PSP from 12-15 Aug. The camp was fairly empty, only 3 other camping sites were taken other than our own. The bugs were out in force, but some citronella candles and/or a smokey fire managed to drive them away. We...
