I brought my daughter here twice during my last two visits to Tennessee and had a wonderful time. The bear den near the entrance is fabulous. They also have elephants, giraffes and zebras up close. There is a fun kids cove and a carousel which is very popular. For Halloween, they had a number of decorations that made good pictures.... more

My 8 year old daughter and I try to see a zoo everytime we go on vacation. From the outside, we didn't think it was going to be that great but we were so wrong! It was a beautiful, well designed, well planned zoo. It was the perfect size for a day outing. We stayed 4 hours but could have... more

I love this Zoo, have gone here every year for 3 or 4 years now. Bought a membership this year and couldn't be happier. It is a small zoo and might not have all the bells and whistles of larger ones, but it feels more intimate to me. This is also one of the only zoos that they can get... more

Visited this zoo May 18, 2008. Not crowded at all on this Sunday morning. As reciprocating membership with Birmingham Zoo we were able to get in free. Parking was $4.00. I guess the zoo had to get on the Paid Parking Bus...sad to say. The admission price was 16.95 had we paid (a bit expensive I thought). Many animals were... more

I visited this zoo on a Thursday in mid April with three teenagers. It was a very nice visit, it took us about 3 hours to walk around and take our time to look at the exhibits. The zoo was clean and the animals looked well taken care of. The teenagers enjoyed the exhibits as much as the parents (not... more

I had a great time at the Knoxville Zoo! My husband and I have been to a good number of zoos and I would have to say that this is one of the top ranking. I would love to go back again someday! It will be sad to not see BiBi, there 40 year old Gorilla! It has recently passed... more

We took the kids to the zoo today (first time I've been since I was 9). It was fabulous! My Girls loved the really large animals, like the camels, giraffes, elephants, gorillas, etc.. I was as interested in the exhibits if not more interested than my children were. It is a huge park, so I would recommend wearing comfortable shoes... more

I've had my share of ups and downs with the Knoxville Zoo over the years. But, they really have invested a great deal into improvements recently, and they deserve to be praised for recognizing their weaknesses and committing to fixing them. We first visited in 2003, and the visit was an average zoo visit. Not too fancy, but not lacking... more

We are avid zoo-goers, couldn't even list all the zoos we've been to. We enjoyed them , large or small. But, I have to say Knoxville Zoo was one of our least enjoyable zoo visits. We had perfect weather - the day after Easter - and arrived to a small crowd at opening time. We paid the $14.95 admission price... more

Knoxville zoo is a great place to take children. For the area it is one of the best zoos around! They have a new area called KIDS COVE. Also there are goats and sheep you can pet, and there is an interesting beaver exhibit located in the KIDS COVE area! It has a lot of fun activites for children. Some... more
