Masaya Volcano is definetely the best place to go while in Masaya. It is an active volcano and is just an amazing experience.As you make your way the top you are greeted by the Bobadilla Cross, an enormous cross set at the top of the volcano. I have done both the day and night tours of the volcano in Masaya, named Volcan Santiago. The day tour is great and cheap. The night tour costs US$10 per person. You get to see the caves with a guide and lots of bats, which is pretty cool. They take you to look into the volcano after dark, but you... more

Masaya Volcano was the highlight of my quick trip to Nicaragua.
