This is Ireland's west coast in all of its rugged beauty. Everything you ever wanted to see. Mizen Head will leave you speachless. It's out of the way and takes the better part of a day, but is completely worth it. We were here in the off season (March 2008) and had the place almost to ourselves. more
Just the drive to Mizen Head is worth it...along the sea and passing by the little seaside villages (don't miss Crookhaven). The visitor center is small...having active kids who like to do hands on activities, we rushed through it to walk on the path to the lighthouse. Mizen head is the most southern point of ireland, about 6 miles from Goleen in County Cork. A 6EU tickets allows you to walk down to the bridge and cross over to the headlight.
