The castle itself is not particularly large or impressive, but if you are whiling away a few hours in Dalkey you could do worse. The tours sell out so when you arrive in Dalkey pop in to the castle and book the slot you want, and come back later. The actors are great and although it is all a bit... More

We used the http://www.visitdublin.com/downloads/Dublin_Podcasts Dalkey walk: mp3: http://blog.visitdublin.com/mp3/Walk9_Dalkey.mp3 pdf: http://visitdublin.com/pdf/iWalk09.pdf Beautiful path, accessible. We didn't enter the castle/visitor's center. Ireland is full of them.....

We went to kill some time before our ferry home, and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The video presentation gave an insight in to the history, but it really came to life when the "Lord" of the manor showed us round and entertained us.

Me and my wife wanted to spend some quality time together that' s the reason why we ended up in Dalkey, strolling upon the Streets we bumped into this fab castle so we dropped in for a quick look. We have been seated in a room where a video started providing nfo etc, not impressed, after I thought that we... More

We were the last group of the day (just the 2 of us). Got the entire tour and the undivided attention of the actors. They seemed to have as much fun with us, as we did with them. Don't miss this attraction when in Dublin. Dalkey is a beautiful town, nice evening strolling - even in the rain.

Even though our party was only 3 we got the whole tour. Views from the top of the castle were fabulous. Don't miss this only 40 minutes from Dublin Centre

My husband and I visited Dalkey Castle yesterday afternoon. When we arrived, we were not quite sure what to expect, due to the time of year. Further, our hotel concierge encouraged us to skip Dalkey; we're glad we went anyhow. From reading the website and information about Dalkey, I had the impression that the site and Heritage Center were much... More

Myself and my girlfriend visited the castle and heritage centre in early November and had a blast. The staff are very welcoming and eager to offer advice and anecdotes. The real fun began when we were introduced to the lady of the manor - replete in traditional, fancy garb - who welcomed us to the year 1561 and kept to... More
