The park is set in beautiful grounds and is world-famous for its conservation and captive-breeding programme. Don't miss the gorillas - this is where a 4 year old boy fell into the enclosure in the 1980's and was 'looked after' by the big silverback Jambo making headlines around the world. Also check out the marmoset woods where you can see... More

I grew up in Jersey and have been visiting Durrell fairly regularly since I was a child and still love to visit as much as I can. First off, Durrell is not a large animal zoo - you won't see any lions, tigers, elephants or giraffes here - and it focuses more on the conservation of species that are endangered,... More

Thanks for your kind words and it's nice to see a childhood fan continue to come and see us. I would just like to add that our entry price of £12.90 we feel is great value. We are a conservation charity and our entry price supports us in our mission to save species from extinction. When you compare us to... More

We spent a whole day here from ten in the morning until 530. I would definitely suggest spending the whole day if you have the time. There is plenty of parking with lots of disabled parking very close to the front entrance, other parking nearby on easy walking surface (ie can push a buggy on it easily). The bus from... More

Dear Hillie, Thank you for your kind words about Durrell. We have a great team and know we have a fond place in peoples hearts. We often here stories like yours about people who visited in the early days as kids and are now returning with grandchildren. Hopefully you will come and see us soon. regards The Durrell Team More

We went to visit the park last january. Altough it was very cold that day we had a fantastic time. The animals there looked very well cared for. If you want to go to Durrell's park to see tigers, elephants and other species you can see in any zoos, you will be disappointed. But if you want to get a... More

I visited last year, 2011, and had a great time. The animals all looked happy, the grounds were beautiful and provided great photo opportunities. I also thought the bus service was really easy to use and the people helpful. A great day out! More

We visit Durrell regularly with our 4 children... we can spend an hour looking around but most often spend the whole day there as there is so much to see and do. We all have our favourite animal and we have started explaining to our older children aged 5 and 6 the good work that goes on here too. We... More

Jersey Zoo is just an incredible place as it´s founder was an incredible man. It is amazing how good and well done zoo could be on such tiny island. We all should apperciate its collection of endangered species which doesn´t include that many species which doesn´t need our helb but they are attractive. As animals should be the most important... I have visited many zoos all over the world and none can compare the Jersey Zoo (aka Durrell). To be honest I am not a great fan of zoos - I hate to see the animals enclosed. But Durrell is so much more, it's main theme is conservation. Lovely grounds too. The one BIG downside is the price. However some... More

Dear Julie, Wow! Being labelled the best zoo in the world is quite an honour. As you say for over 50 years we have been pioneering conservation thanks to Gerry's vision, and we are very much more than a 'zoo'. I am surprised you feel our £12.90 admission price is a "BIG" downside, we feel our admission is very competitive... More
