Lots going on with boats in and out both fishing and boat trips, of this lovely little harbour, you can just sit and watch or take a boat trip.

The day was overcast and had been raining. There was plenty of shops and cafes but mainly of the fish and chips verity. The harbour area was litter free but the car parks took some fiding , as we were strangers to the area. Once found there were plenty of spaces .;

Loverly compact harbour. Just right for those of you who like it all within reach with the added bonus of there being longer walks if needed.

There is a regular ferry boat from Brixham to Torquay which takes about half an hour and enables you to see the coastline around Torbay. At the moment they are offering a return fare of just £2.00. If you are planning a visit to Torbay this is by far the most pleasant and cheapest way to get from Brixham to... More

Unfortunately the morning we were in Brixham it was raining, but this did not dampen our spirits. We found a little indoor market which was really nice. On walking round in the rain we discovered a small cafe on a corner, which we think was called J's, where we received a warm welcome. The tea and home made cake was... More

I just love Brixham as it still survives on fishing. You can watch the boats go out and come back and there's always fresh fish available everywhere. Much better than Torquay or Paingnton in my opinion

Visited Brixham on several days whilst staying in Torquay. The pirate festival was quite good, all on the inner harbour, with lots of singing and music. Walked along the coastal path to Battery Gardens, a WW2 gun battery to defend the harbour and Torbay, some great views of the bay from the cliffs, then it is a short walk to... More

Have just had a most fabulous weekend at Brixham pirate festival on the harbour. Music, dancing, reinactments, attractions for children and thousands of people dressed up as pirates. All free to watch. Couldn't fault it - there was something for everyone. A must for next year! - it was great. Brixham is such a fabulous place for all the family.
