We had been to a Butterfly Farm before but had seen otters only in films. We timed our visit to coincide with a feeding time. We witnessed the antics of the otters as they were being fed and were given excellent background information by the keeper. Went to the butterfly farm today. the first thing that we saw was the tiolets were not very clean ,there wasn't any soap there wasn't any toilet paper and the flush bearly worked.After that the butterfly farm and the otters were just very run down and it looked as if it had had it's day.Quite a sad place to what... more

Like all Devon family attractions it charges £6.50 each adult. Although the small butterfly greenhouse is perfectly formed, the outside Otter areas were sparsely populated and drab with poor viewing opportunities even at one of the 3- a -day feeding times. No additional facilites of note - didn't see the cafe, but no extra kids play areas. Handy location for... more

Sorry to see a poor review. We had over a dozen otters in residence at the time of this visit made up of three different species including our native British otter and young. We cannot normally keep large groups of certain otters together because of thier territorial nature so some of the pens would have been made up of family...
