This was my first time out of town visiting Nashville, TN. We had planned to visit the J.D. Distillery for some time now and it was more than well worth the trip. Very nice, friendly experience , very peaceful. One of my favorite moments (among many) was the group photo that they took at the beginning of the tour. It... More

I had no idea what to expect, having seem their ads for 25 years now, but it was MUCH better than even my high expectations. The area has changed little in 100 years, except for quantity made, and the process is still the same as in 1864, when old JD started it. We JUST made the last tour of the... More

Not all tour guides are created equally....but Mark raises the bar when it comes to an informative and entertaining guide!! Soup-to-nuts tour takes one through the process for converting the ricks of sugar maple into the charcoal used in the filtering process....right through the mashing, fermentation, filtering, barreling and aging stages of production. You'll even get a splash of 140... More

We drove down to Lynchburg for the free tour and what a great day! The scenery driving in to Lynchburg is beautiful and peaceful. The distillery is set up with a beautiful reception center for you to check in for a tour and than either sit and relax or read/review some interesting points about how to make whiskey or about... It is free and intresting. Well worth the time, lovely drive to the distillery. Make sure if you go and you plan on making a purchase of one of the bottles do not go on a Sunday, it is in a dry county and they are not allowed to sell on Sundays.

It's free, usually not much of a wait, well organized, and fun. Surprised to read a negative review about one of the guides, have only come across the good ones! In our group of 15 or so, counted 4 different languages being spoken. 5 if you count "southern". There are some steps, not handicapped accessible as far as I can... More

Everything here is still done the old - fashion way and that was good to know and see. They handle a lot of tourists so plan accordingly. When one tour fills up, they hand out tickets for the next one. It's worth the wait, although I only waited 25 minutes. The drive down to town is nice, too-very scenic. I... More

I enjoyed visiting the distillery and seeing all the sights, the only problem was the tour guide was condescending and rude when I asked a few questions. All the questions I asked were "normal" questions, but the tour guide answered each one with an attitude. Other than that, the sights were great and I will still drink Jack Daniels. I... More

Drove down from Nashville, took about an hour and half. Well worth it, the online information does not do it justice. Not a great big attraction, but very nice. We got a tour of the distillery, if you can take the stairs, if not, there is still alot to see. Our tour guide was great, think her name was Sharil,... More
