My husband and another couple visited the Rosslyn Chapel in May. We took the bus from Edinburg, and walked to the Chapel. We wandered on the scaffolding that surrounds the outside of the building before entering the chapel. Although we arrived early a few people started to arrive by the time we entered the chapel. Our guide was a young... more

This small chapel outside of Edinburgh is well worth a visit, it is wonderful. The interior is full of lovely stonework with multitudes of carvings of angels, "green men", couples and even a horned Moses. The docents are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. It is a little hard to locate, but keep the faith, it's a place you'll find fascinating. more

We took bus 15 from St Andrews Sq in Edinburgh to Roslin. The bus took 30 minutes and dropped us in front of the chapel. First, we had a bite to eat in the Original Rosslyn Inn - I highly recommend it. We then walked up to the chapel and toured around. it is an extremely beautful chapel. The carvings... more

I visited the chapel in December with some friends and even though many people were there, it didn't feel crowded at all. I haven't read the Da Vinci code so it was for me only a cute little chapel with great carvings. It is pretty small though. The outside is being restored (because of roof problems) so don't expect the... more

Rosslyn Chapel, c. 1450, is a beautiful example of masonary carvings on the ceiling, pillars and arches. Look for the Angel Playing the Bagpipes, the Mason's Pillar, the window arches with carvings of Indian corn. Guides point all these out and more. It is well worth the trip outside of Edinburgh. more

Rosslyn chapel is a fascinating place, even if you haven't read the daVinci Code. We took a tour from Edinburgh through Rosslyn Tours. It was a minivan tour, not a large coach, so it was very personalized. Straight to the front of the line, too. Our very knowledgeable guide explained the history of the chapel and the significance of each... more

I've wanted to make the trip to Rosslyn Chapel for ages, but this was the first chance we've had the time to actually visit. It was easy to hop on the bus from Edinburgh, and only a short walk to the chapel. Watch your time, because the return bus only came once an hour on the day we were there.... more

Toured Rosslyn Chapel last Tuesday, and loved every square inch! Must be seen to be believed, and is very well presented/documented. Beautiful place, fabulous history to soak up. Entire upper section under ugly scaffolding at present for restoration, but upside of this is that you can hike to top of scaffolding and see exterior details---more carving up there! Also, road... more

I'm in agreement with the other reviewer. Rosslyn is easy to get to by the bus...although you may want to keep track of the returning bus times when you arrive. We just missed one and had to wait an hour for the next one, and there is nothing to Roslin the village except two inns with restaurants/pubs. Rosslyn was almost... more
