Played the Kings Course in early September in perfect weather-a great track in good condition but not as good as one might expect when the green fee is $250.The fairways were pockmarked with unrepared divots-perhaps they fix them in the fall. The pace of play was painfully slow with a few groups of novice players who were obviously playing the... more

Wee Course - The first, second, seventh, eighth and ninth are so, so set in acres of space. The third however is one of the toughest par 3's ever perched on a hill the right side of the green is gorse.......as is the left! Fourth and fifth are quality holes. Sixth a blind one ala the Himalayas at Prestwick. Queens... more

We played the PGA Centenary Course in September 2008. The course looks lovely but the drainage is very poor with a lot of the fairways waterlogged. Most clubs would have closed the course given the conditions. Instead Gleneagles charged £150 for the round that despite the beautiful scenery and design was not worth a fraction of the price. Then to... more

I stayed at Gleneagles last week for a week and this was my third visit to Gleneagles. It is one of the most beautiful hotels in the UK situated in breathtaking grounds. Compared to other 5 star hotels it offers an abundance of activities including falconry, horse riding at the equestrian centre, clay pigeon shooting (the instructor was very patient... more

Excellent Experience! Gleneagles is a old fashioned place, but unlike it’s pretentious 5 star cousins down south, it is very relaxed and the service is very good. I spent two nights with work early December and loved it; I had a suite in the new building, Braid house, very nice. Real gas fire, lovely bathroom ( under floor heating), one... more

Gleneagles, well if it's good enough for Blair and Bush, et al, then it's good enough for me. And it is. That said, it’s alot of money so you should expect the best. Sometimes it's not perfect. Anyway.... The Good Stuff :- - Andrew Fairlie - 1 of 3 of the main Hotel's restaurants. Sublime. I had the tasting menu... more

Our family recently spent two wonderful nights at this outstanding hotel. Just driving up to the hotel entrance you know you are about to sample something rather special. Booking in was rather slow, due to a large wedding party arriving at the same time, but just gave more time to soak up the atmosphere. Our rooms were large and comfortable... more

We won a night at Gleneagles as a prize and decided to use the night as a special treat for our wedding anniversary. We arrived at the hotel in our clapped out creaky old car (it actually failed its MoT 2 weeks later and we bought a new one) you can drive right up to the doors and have your... more

If it can only be once in a lifetime, one must stay at Gleneagles. Traveling with our family (daughter 19, son 12), the accomodations were nothing less than superb with beauty that rivaled the clouds on which angels must travel. I felt as if we were living characters out of Fitzgerald's Great Gatsby due to the incredible history and beauty... more

We have been fortunate enough to enjoy many five star hotel throughout the world, but this one remains my undisputed favourite. Informal and relaxed yet professional to a fault. Rooms are beautiful and range from classic to contemp. I have never had occasion to complain, and Im quite hard to please.......arent we all! I have only eaten in the Strathearn... more
