A very warm welcome was given to us all when we turned up and it's just got better. The range is not huge but what they do have are very well looked after. The Place was very clean and looked after well. The guide was amazing telling us all about the reptiles they had and also about the history of... More

Stopped here for a little while, and found it a very informative and interesting little sanctuary. Don't expect anything huge, it's only a crofters cottage. The entry fee when we went was £4.50 and I thought this was perfectly acceptable, after all they do have to raise enough money to survive the winter months. Being able to handle a snake... More

This is a really interesting place to visit as the people are qualified Herpetologists so they can tell you everything you want to know about the animals. If you wish there are tame snakes to handle. They are warm, smooth, and muscular, not at all slimy as we are led to believe. Also, as they are rescued from the cruel... More

Although just a small place, the animals and information we received was excellent, the people were very friendly and informative and do a lot of good work with these type of animals in the country. Overall i would advise anyone to go and see this

I visited the Skye Serpentarium with my elderly father, sister and my two nieces. Our first pleasant surprise was the price - around £12 for all of us. After that a staff member started talking to us about what each creature in each display unit was and how they had come to be there. The staff are so passionate and... More

Although only small, the owners of this serpentarium have a real passion for their charges and can have all the facts about them on the tip of their tongues. The highlight is the chance to hold a sizeable snake and get to feel their skin. A good way to pass some rainy time on Skye.

This was our second visit to the Serpentarium - the first being in June 2006. I thought this time the enclosures would be bigger but I was wrong. There were 4 Bearded Dragons in a 4ft. x 4ft glass enclosure all standing still on a fake rocky outcrop. When I asked if they got out to excercise the response was... More

Though it's only a wee place the Serpentarium is a nice place to take the kids on a wet day in Skye particularly as the staff are attentive and know what they are talking about. There is also a wee cafe attached to it.

What an amazing place! Please visit even if you are not a reptile lover. The staff here really care about the animals and are extremely informative. My thanks to the lovely Italian lady who allowed me to hold Goldie, the royal python, twice. That was one of the highlights of my holiday on Skye. Don't be scared, if you are... More
