Probably the highlight of my day out at Ice Factor, “Hit the Ice” was an unforgettable experience. Armed with ice axe, crampons and helmet the journey began at the foot of the ice wall with a step by step guide from our instructor. However, with groups sizes kept small instruction is never far away and you quickly find yourself progressing... more

I am a pretty confident person and was sure that the high (very high) adventure course would be a walk in the park...mmmmm not so! It was pretty terrifying at first, of course this was completely irrational as the lovely young Dan made sure we were all buckled and harnessed in and could not possibly fall. My 2 little neices,... more

This is just such a brilliant thing to do and what a place to do it. I had never done any ice climbing before so to be honest was a bit nervous, well OK when I say nervous....but as soon as Jamie took my two fellow novices and me onto the wall, everything became clear. Jamie is a superb and... more

I dared to venture onto the adventure course after my daughter in law `roped` me in. my daughters linda & Elaine, my grandchildren Bronwyn, Jamie & Eilidh, all took part. Me at 57 years young, thought I could never do the daring tasks that the course required. I got no choice. In I was, whether I liked it or not.... more

I went to visit the Ice Factor with a couple of friends from Glasgow. I was really only going along for the ride and was going to sit with a book in the cafe all day while my friends went of on their little adventure around the centre. When I arrived there I decided to give it a try and... more

Having wanted to do a skills course for years and after much research I settled on the Ice Factor. From initial contact I was very pleased with everything they had to offer and my instructor, Jamie, was brilliant making every day fun utilising all the facilities at the centre. I have been back on a regular basis not only to... more

My family and I spent a fantastic day at the Ice factor - we learned to rock climb before sampling what I understand to be the biggest ice wall in the world - it certainly looked it from the top! The food was also excellent but most of all, the hospitality shown by the staff was first class. Recommend it... more

The Ice Factor Ltd in Kinlochleven is certainly one, if not the only, jewel in the crown of Adventure Tourism facilities in the Highlands. There are excellent facilities that cater for the inexperienced all the way through to the gnarly hardcore exponent of Rock or Ice; from young through to old and from individuals through to large groups. Having read... more

My wife and two sons (now aged 11 and 8) have been visiting the ice factor each year (sometimes twice) for the last four years. They have a varied program to keep the whole family amused and they are always looking to add to this. Their latest addition has been a high walk which is a circular climbing/walking route set... more

I stumbled into the Ice Factor after a long car journey, and found myself in immediate changed circumstances. Set inside the shell of an old factory, the facility has a post-industrial atmosphere, with the builidng now put to good use for white knuckle activities. The ice climbing wall was pretty daunting, but the real treat was the outside climbing frame.... more
