Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really enjoyed ice climbing at ice factor yesterday - a perfect escape from the west coast rain! Bob was a brilliant instructor and all the staff were really friendly.

We turned up at the ice factor and asked what we could do. We was shown around and given our options. We choose to have mark (a lovely instructor) teach us the basics. We booked a private lesson for an hour for me, my 7 year old daughter and my partner.
Having a lesson really helped build confidence and taught us some basic techniques. We all loved the session because mark was so fantastic with us all.
I’m now really looking forward to trying climbing again and hopefully progressing
Thanks mark! You made it super 😀

The most amazing experience at this very special and unique place.
Bobby, the very talented instructor had me ice climbing, Tracey was a perfect hostess with a warm welcome, Mark and Jake instructors on the climbing wall helped me with get some really good tips to improve my climbing and Donna the chef, such lovely great value food , she never stops making visitors feel special.
What a brilliant team. It’s worth visiting and you will never get the experience anywhere else in the world.

Absolutely amazing! This is the first time I’ve tried Ice climbing and the staff were absolutely brilliant! So informative and reassuring and incredibly helpful went above and beyond. Definitely will be back next time I visit the area. Big shoutout to bob for keeping us safe and informed and all of the other guys for being so lovely and helpful :)

Absolutely cracking place to visit (which I do on a very regular basis). The staff (Jack, Stewart & Harrison) are really enthusiastic, knowledgeable & professional. Whether you're a rock climber or an ice climber, you'll have a blast. I never fail to leave without a huge smile on my face. An added bonus is that the food in the cafe is yummy, especially the cakes, soup & toasties. I can't recommend Ice Factor enough, if you are in the area, it's a must whatever the weather!

Came to kinlochleven for the weekend in our campervan . Stumbled across the ice factor and popped in to see the set up . Had a coffee , tea and cake in the cafe and the guy who served us could not have been more accommodating ( the guy with the beard ) .
Lovely chat and made us feel very welcome . I have always wanted to try climbing and there a 2 facilities in Glasgow but they are always busy or unable to accommodate .
I asked the question and had a lesson booked an hour later . The guy who took the booking was lovely , very reassuring and encouraging of my height phobia … said it was very normal .
I came back an hour later to meet my instructor Martin who was amazing .
I was made to feel so comfortable, at ease and safe too .
I started on the easiest climb( scariest part was coming down for me ) and it was brilliant fun . Martin was insightful , but relaxed and made it fun . We moved onto another few walls, slightly harder ( well I think they were 😏) and tried belaying … much harder but fun to build confidence . Martin was super reassuring .
Last thing was bouldering …. Might need a bit more practice haha .
The whole experience was so much fun and something I have wanted from try for ages .
The whole team were brilliant and Martin , my instructor couldn’t have made the experience any better ….. loved it !!!!!

I wounder if the place is due to close🤔 way over priced poor quality cafe. Pre-made possibly couple day old rolls. Cold soup and staff member quite rude. Staff training wouldn't go a miss. Food prep, dealing with customers

Had a great time climbing on the ice wall, in the ice taster session. Stuart was our instructor and was brilliant. Definitely recommend to anyone passing through!

Great session on the ice wall, Andrew really made the session fun and rewarding for our 12 year old son. Booking was easy and a great day out, thank you.

Can you just turn up and pay on the day to use facilities or do you need to book in? (Experienced climber)

If you just want to climb, you can turn up and pay. I’d say if you wanted to participate in one of the instructed sessions, it would be safer to book.

Can I please ask why anybody would go to an ice climbing venue and judge it on its "Breakfast"?

Sorry not quite sure what the question is, I didn't mention breakfast in my review , I spoke mainly about the facilities themselves, having the cafe there is a bonus, it is an amazing place well worth the visit

I think the patts0 review is unfair. It's a climbing wall! Why would a coachload of OAPs want to go to a climbing wall. It's not something you go and watch!

Hi, On the day in question the centre was quite and we were using the opportunity to do some staff training.
A tour bus company came in for a coffee stop. As we had no customers climbing at that time, I asked the staff to stop what they were doing and give an Ice Climbing demo.
Unfortunately, not everyone had the same level of interest.
We do try to provide a high level of customer satisafaction, and every one is entitle to their own opinion, hopefully he enjoyed refreshments in the cafe
