The Memphis Zoo is a very beautiful zoo with amazing amount of quality exhibits. My family has a membership, and we enjoy visiting several times a year. The Zoo is continually adding new sections and improving the existing ones. Look for the Teton Trek to open in October of 2009. The Memphis Zoo is truly a unique experience. It changes every year and they are always updating the exhibits. You can bring your cooler, snacks, drinks, and have a picnic almost anywhere around the grounds. We've been several times in the past 5 years and now that the kids are in grade school, they can easily walk on their own.... more

Visiting the Memphis Zoo was among the highlights of my family's recent visit to Memphis. I would agree that this is one of the best zoos around - and I have seen some other fine zoos (Milwaukee, San Diego, etc). Don't miss it. The Panda exhibit is outstanding. more

We showed up towards the afternoon and were pleasantly surprised to see the animals active. They appeared very alert and well stimulated. The habitats are smaller than we would like but they are very well maintained. We loved the themed areas around the exhibits. It was inexpensive and well worth the time and money. more
