Wow what an amazing place to see. It is still the same today as it was back in 1953 when Elvis, J. Cash, BB King, Muddy Waters, Carl Perkins, Jerry L. Lewis, etc, etc. recorded here. It is still being used for bands today.

The primary artifact is the recording studio itself where so many early rock pioneers got their start. Great history shared enthusiastically by our guide. Tour group was large, but there are basically only two rooms to see. This was my 20-year-old son's favorite thing we did in Memphis.
We visited Graceland and Sun Studio both on the same say and I have to say that I liked Sun Studio beter. There was a great vibe from the moment we set foot into the building, it just "oozes rock n roll". The reception/ gift shop/ bar (without alcohol) where you wait for the tour to start is excellent. Elvis, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and more. This was the place they, and more, got a start. You will be surprised. This is not a huge place (Hey, neither is Graceland). It is steeped in music history.
The history of the man and the place - flat out awesome. Our guide was so knowledgeable. Loved hearing so many clips of recordings made here, seeing the photos, and hearing the stories. Not a big place, but a huge experience for me.
What an awesome experience full of history and information. Our tour guide (ElDorado) was rocking!!! You can tell he's enjoying what he does and sharing the information. So much to do, see and take in make sure you allow plenty of time. Oh yeah, they offer AAA discount....
Step back into time to the place where Rock and Roll began. You actually stand in the spot where Elvis Presley recorded his first demo record for his mom. A lot of history is given by the docent and there is not too much to see, but it is worth it.
Well worth a visit. Free parking in back. We got there early, so had a terrific chocolate malt while we waited for the tour to begin. Very interesting, and you could tell the tour guide was really into this bit of history. Stairs would be difficult to navigate if you are handicapped...don't know if there's an elevator.
It's a small place, with a small tour but with BIG history! Just being able to stand in the actual Sun studio is worth the price of admission.
The only negatives I had was that once you get in to the actual studio, you can only be in there for about 10min or so. Then they rush you out so...

Amazing place. Hard to believe it all started in such a small place. Don't miss it.
