Great chance to ride a monorail and the island offers some delightful activities. more
We enjoyed the entire Mud Island complex. The monorail was unique. The museum interesting and extensive. The river walk was very enjoyable. The grounds and 'river' water were all clean and well maintained. The setting along the river, the flowers and the city background make for a very pleasant experience. more
While I'm sure this was a very neat place when new, the park is showing its age - cracked concrete, poor maintenance, not cleaned recently etc. The park itself is Free - very cool You will need to pony up for the monorail if you don't want to walk over. The walk should be very easy for most - just... more
It sure was a nice way to spend the day of great weather!Very peaceful and pleasant experience all in all. more
it was not what we thought. we paid the 4.00 and got on the monorail. the park was really nice. watching the river. walking around. more than we thought. we had a great time it worth it. more

Mud Island is an interesting site for the tram ride ($6 tram/museum for seniors) and the museum was very interesting, well done. Just don't plan to eat there. Only two sources: a deli with hot dogs and sandwiches for $5.75 each, and out at the end a hamburger place. Small cheeseburger plain was $5.75 and water was $3/bottle. I asked... more
For the super tight wad, just walk across the bridge to the Island and don't go to the museum. Seems like the prices were high. I think $8/person which included monorail. It would be great for kids to have some small floating objects to run through the river model. I wore chaco sandals so I was able to walk through... more
Kids will love this place. Take the funky Monorail over to Mud Island and go into the Museum. There is a huge reproduction of a paddlewheeler inside. For the adults, this place will give you a good sense of life on the Mississippi. Outside, there is a replica of the Big River with actual water, you can traverse the whole... more
