We're in CADW so all the Welsh castles are free for us so didn't spend a huge amount of time here. It was a really windy day and quite bracing at the top of the towers but fantastic views. There's an amazing fudge shop (they make it on site) across the road. £1.95 for a 100g bag is SO worth... More

To be totally honest the best thing about the castle is it's elevated position and all the best photos can be taken outside without having to pay money to the grumpy staff. If you visit old castles then you would have seen more interesting interiors elsewhere.

A wonderful example of English Medieval military architecture - and views from the battlements which make the 143 step climb worthwhile!

We live quite close to Harlech and so we often go here when we have a few hours to while away. Once the waves lapped at the foot of this castle and it was rendered and painted white - what a truly magnificent sight it must have been from the sea. It is truly one of the most beautifully located... More

The castle is excellent. The information offered by the traveller is mind-boggling, and the views from the top of the castle are out of this world.

One of our favourite castles and we've seen a few. Worth a visit.

Visited Harlech Castle on a whim, but couldn't miss it. Perched up high on the cliff overlooking the sea and snowdon and the mountains. The drive up to the castle is quite steep and the road is narrow, so drive slowly, just in case someone is coming the other way. The castle is well maintained and full of welsh history.

If you are into castles, Wales is a must, and don't miss out Harlech. After all one of the most famous Welsh anthems/songs/hymns is dedicated to the place. The other castle towns don't have one... there's no Men of Conwy! The structure is pretty well preserved minus a few floors here and there, it's worth trying to imagine Harlech Castle... More

Great view of the ocean. The castle is worth the visit itself. Entry fee was short of 5GBP, much less than the other castles and much prettier.
