I've never been into history that much, but on a recent trip back to South Wales with a friend who had never visited the area at all, she picked Pembroke Castle as a place to visit. So off we went. Its in a good location from lots of the main tourist areas such as Tenby, and there is plenty of... More

Visited with family. Big interesting castle. Lots of things to see a loads of steps to climb if feeling fit. Cave underneath quite impressive. Cafe very expensive by ok quality-wise if not amazing. Used the audio tour which worked fine and helped in understanding the history. Shop had lots of stuff to buy. Dog friendly.

I visited the castle with my wife and 3 teenage boys, there was a medievil event taking place which we found interesting, re inactments were scheduled for late afternoon which we didnt stay for as the weather was turning bad, but while there all the participents were very informative about medievil life there, a guided tour is available several times... This is a lovely place to visit. Save it for a rainy day as there is so much to see indoors (and lots of rainy days in Pembs!!)

Visited on a cold and windy day so didn't spend as much time in the castle as would have liked to. The structure is impressive, very large and well maintained, lots of stairs and stunning views all around. The children enjoyed walkind up and down but the strong winds forced our retreat to the coffee shop eventually. Would have welcomed... More

Great history, good displays, excellent staff. The new manager is getting to grips with new ideas.

One of the best castles we've been to, we climbed every spiral staircase to every single turret and it was very wet and very windy on the day we went. There isn't much shelter and some of the spiral staircases are extremely narrow but we all really enjoyed it. The heated coffee shop was a little gem, but a bit... More

Set aside at least a few hours to explore the castle properly. Something to interest everyone and located near car parks, restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops.
