This was an unplanned stop because the weather had turned to rain and we wanted something to do that did not involve getting dripping wet. The initial impression was good - the lift car operated by water and the experimental loos of various designs, both of which were explained fully and clearly by the guy operating the lift. However, it... More

Like several other reviewers, I visited CAT probably 15-20 years ago, when it was starting to become quite well established. Knowing we would be staying in the area, I told my husband I'd like to visit, and described it to him as not dissimilar to the Eden project, in Cornwall. Having an interest in technology, he was looking forward to... More

I first visited the CAT in 1977 and decided to re-visit. It has certainly changed a lot but not all for the better. It was still a good way to spend a morning and offers value for money More

We visited the CAT and enjoyed our time there. The shop is well stocked and the restaurant very good. Admission prices were reasonable and the car that takes you to the top using water power is great fun even if you are scared of heights like I am. There is a playground for children if travelling with kids, we had... More

In July 2011 I dropped off my partner at CAT as he was attending an open day before deciding whether to sign up for one of the MSc postgrad courses. I was interested to see how the place had developed since my first visit some 30 years before and I spent over an hour looking round. The WISE building was... More

I first visited this centre as a teenager just after it had opened to the public in 1975 and boy has it changed! There are now so many things to look at that you can easily spend the whole day looking around and getting involved with many of the hands on displays. Definately on for the whole family! More

We had intended to visit CAT for many years, as it's situated in a lovely part of Wales and the idea of alternative technology has always appealed to us. However, we were a bit disappointed, though friends and family who had already been there, warned us that it wasn't very inspiring and rather unprofessional. All the information displayed is quite...
