Our team is passionate about kayaking, passionate about being out on the water and living our dream, to take time - enjoy life. Our passion is infectious. So when you're out on one of our tours kayaking into Middle Harbour, on a Freedom Rental kayaking to Balmoral or in our shop buying a kayak, we're here to guide, instruct and inspire you. Sydney Harbour Kayaks has been renting & selling kayaks, teaching kayaking and guiding tours around Middle Harbour from the Spit Bridge since 1991. We take great pride in making sure you have a wonderful kayaking experience. Safety and customer satisfaction are of the highest concern for us. Both Sydney Harbour Kayaks and our Team Building programs with SHK TITANIUM operate under guidelines from NSW Maritime - licenses HD0255 and HD0402. We maintain a very strict Operations Manual, which is considered one of the best in the Hire Drive industry. We are audited by NSW Maritime on a regular basis as well as having our Operations Manual updates independently scrutineered. We have now opened a second shop called 'The Warehouse' it stocks hundreds of kayaks, surf skis and ocean skis. It is located at North Manly, only 5km from our Spit Bridge location. You can now rent kayaks on the beautiful Narrabeen Lakes, we operate the Narrabeen Kayak Rental in partnership with the team from Jamieson Park Paddle. The launching area is within Jamieson Park, on the Southern shoreline of the lake. Our kayak & surf-ski rental fleets are some of the best around, we offer a mix of plastic and composite sea kayaks as well as surf-skis and stand-up paddle boards. Lessons are our specialty and we teach from beginners through to a Professional level. If you are just learning about kayaking then you should try our Paddle Safe / Paddle Smart Program, which is a free beginners lesson every weekend. If you are a club, school, kayaking outfitter or sell kayaks please have a look at our wholesale company called Floating Assets. We distribute some amazing brands and products. You can now follow us on FaceBook for up to date information and special web only deals. On behalf of all the team at Sydney Harbour Kayaks and Floating Assets, I warmly welcome you to come down and have a paddle with us. Shannon O'Brien, Managing Director / Owner « less

We recently had the most wonderful time kayaking around Middle Harbour. The tour was extremely well organised and professionally run. Our tour guide, Sol, certainly added to the experience with his excellent knowledge and attention to detail. We now look forward to organising another tour with our extended family.

We are locals but felt like tourists as we saw Sydney from a different perspective. Great fun, lovely guides and a beautiful sunny day made for a wonderful day.

would recommend for people with reasonable fitness. We are over 60 years old and found paddling for 3 hours was a challenge for us. The company is well run and they provided a waterproof camera for only $12. The guide took some good shots of us in the Kayak. Don't park in the council car park across the road -... More

These guys know their stuff and are well run. We did the Middle Harbour tour and it was great. Our guide was very knowledgeable and very considerate for those who were not strong paddlers. Lunch was good too, even though we were "forced" to finish off the Tim Tams because they were melting! Highly recommended. My brother does a lot... More

My Sydney Harbour Kayak day out was amazing. The harbour glistened like a jewel and the sun was shining. The friendly beach crew at SHK's showed us newbies what to do and got us all equipped to head out on the water. This was about date 3-4 for me and my (now boyfriend) and I can tell you, that kayaking... More

I took some friends to check out the side of Sydney not many people see - Harbour-side Sydney, the place were rich people live! Checking out the awesome houses on the water, as well as the shipwrecks we found, and then the amazing sight of the coffee boat dude serving fresh coffee to us, it would be hard to find... More

I took a couple of journalists from EFTM.com.au for their first kayaking adventure on Sydney Harbour with boats provided by Sydney Harbour Kayaks. The beach crew were friendly and extremely helpful in getting two new and inexperienced paddlers comfortable with their boats. After a couple of hours around Middle Harbour with a refreshment stop of Balmoral, we headed back to... More

Sydney Harbour Kayaks organises four-hour kayaking 'eco' tours every weekend. Their base in Mosman is easily accessible from the centre of Sydney as buses from the centre stop on their doorstep. The groups seem to be kept quite small as there were 6 double kayaks and a guide on the day that i did the tour. After a safety briefing... More
