I have been to the zoo several times but its always so exciting to go there. The prices are fairly reasonable for a day out ($41 for adult fare). The bird show is a must, it costs no extra. Walking around is quite hard once you get down to the bottom so wear comfy shoes. The new food facilities are... more

Visited teh Zoo on Saturday and had a great day. Caught the the 9.45am ferry and got to the zoo before the crowds did. Views back to the CIty are awesome and the Animal shows, Keeper talks and exhibits just make this a fantastic place to go no matter what age you are. Saying that its a bit hilly so... more

Taronga Zoo Skyway. Not a separate “ride”; it goes between two entrances. We bought a zoo ticket that included a “Skyway” ride but we didn’t know what this meant. As it turns out, the Skyway isn’t an extra bargain; it is part of the zoo and it’s not possible to get a zoo ticket that doesn’t include the Skyway. Anyway,... more

I have visited many zoos over the years, this place is definitely worth visiting, providing you don't have any issues with animals in captivity. Most of the Animals appear well-looked after, and their enclosures look quite sizeable. Great for the kids (im a big kid myself). Take the ferry direct to the zoo, then hop on a bus or cable... more

As one of our last days out in Oz, we'd been told for the whole journey "You've got to go to Taronga Zoo, the animals are ok, but the location is AMAZING" After spending the day there I have to say I disagree. The animals AND the setting are great! There are 2-3 big projects underway at the zoo (an... more

Visited this zoo in July 2008 with my family (children aged 12 and 14) Took the ferry from Sydney (purchased a joint ferry and zoo entrance ticket from the ferry terminal). Beautiful ferry crossing passing the Opera house on the way out (great photos). Arrived at the zoo which is a short trip and then took the cable car on... more

Not a bad little place. And I must say. What a charming wombat that was on show with the staff. A definite must. more

Wow, this was brilliant. We were expecting to be there a couple of hours then on our way home but there was so much to see, not only the animals but the views of Sydney! We went first thing and gave our selves plenty of time, which we were pleased we had. It was lovely wandering up and down the... more

We visited Taronga Zoo during our Australian holiday in February of this year and for me, a confirmed animal lover, it was the highlight of my short stay in Sydney. Like other reviewers we took the ferry and cable car which is fun in itself and once in the Zoo enjoyed many of the free shows - the bird display... more

taronga zoo is one of the best days out in sydney, and would have to be Australia's premier zoo and wildlife display, with one of the largest range of native and exotic animals in the country amounting to over 4000 animals in total. The zoo is part way through a government financed redevelopment program-this program has so far revealed a... more
