Our visit here was on an overcast and showery day. To dodge one shower we had morning tea at the large, bright cafe that overlooks half of the gardens. Food rather expensive but looked nice, however the coffee was of good quality at the usual price. The garden is a huge area of over 360 hectares but much of it... More

I could spend the day here. Walk around the Shrine and then the Garden. There's lakes filled with eels and swans (black and white). The Herb Garden is tactile and great for children and adults alike. There's different themes ie: Bamboo or Tropical walks. Huge trees, rolling grounds. Weddings held here. Nice coffee shop and restaurant. Nice and interesting gift... More

I'm embarrassed to say we live near Cranbourne and had never been to the Botanic Gardens nearby until last weekend. What we found was an amazing and extensive natural paradise. Our children loved seeing wallabies and wombats and natural wetlands. There are playgrounds, adventure areas, picnic areas and a cafe. All free and I highly recommend it.
