I have been to Montalto many times, as we visit the Mornington Peninsula several times a year and it’s beautiful in warm or cold weather. I dined at the restaurant, with a group of friends, a few years ago, visiting the beautiful grounds after lunch. There is a vegetable garden, several sculptures dotted around the garden and the view of... More

Montalto is a very good winery on the Peninsula but not in my top 5. Very popular with the weekend Melbourne crowd but many locals tend to avoid it. Sensational location and view, good food but a little overpriced and wine is good without being great!

Great wines, delightful food both in the restaurant or the informal cafe and a gorgeous setting.

The people are friendly, the wine great (try the dry Rose) and the food temendous. Walk through the permanent outdoor art display, listen to the birds and watch the ducks on the lake

Go mid week if you can when it is less busy. Bring a hat for after lunch to wander around and look at the sculptures on the vineyard. Great food. Never had a bad dish and always so hard to choose what to have. Sit near the window if you can, though it can mean a bit of glare.

Good wine, good food options (low price pizza or the more upmarket restaurant) and a lovely sculpture walk around the grounds.
