The lady who served us was really pleasant & attentive. She also knew the history of the vineyard. This place had a larger variety of fortified wines than other places we went to.
The 2007 Calliope is drinking splendidly, as were many of the rewarding Buller wines. Winery in nice setting. Reds are supposed to be made as traditional Rutherglen reds which are full bodied and supposed to age well. I like that style so I rated the reds overall as best in the area.
I went to this winery in 1986, it was nice then and well priced
I live in the area and one of our must do wineries with our visitors is Bullers....Not only do they have wine tasting but they also have a "Bird World" which contains lots of aviaries of many Australia native birds....it's nice to wander around at your leisure and point out some of the Aussie wildlife you would not see normally
This winery may not have all the bells and whistles of some very professional wineries, but I'm very taken with their products!
