The music was fantastic, as was the atmosphere. The problem was the bad service! We apparently sat in the only four seats in the house that are not served by the wait staff, so we had to leave our seats in the midst of the performance to buy our own drinks at the crowded bar, stepping in front of everyone... more

My sister and I recently went to the Bluebird Cafe on open mic night. It was writers night and we spent three hours listening to mostly quality musicians singing their original songs. One of the best parts was that it was off the beaten path and a little less touristy than all the other things we did. Be aware that... more

When we decided to go to Nashville, I logged onto TripAdvisor and I'm so glad I did. I would not have known anything about the Bluebird Cafe had I not seen it here. The Bluebird Cafe is a tiny, hole-in-the-wall place that my husband and I love to find in different towns. I tried to call for reservations on the... more

We went to the early (free) show on April 15th 2008 and enjoyed the show a lot. The songwriter circle we went to was composed of four young, talented songwriters. Three played guitar, one brought a guitarist. Very close quarters, but guitars not too loud - voices did seem a little over-miked, but still OK. Very intimate setting allowed for... more

I've lived in Nashville for the last two years, and the Bluebird Cafe is such a gem for locals and visitors alike. We always bring visitors to the Bluebird, and it's always a tremendous hit -- while my fiance and I tend to forget the names of all the aspiring songwriters we've heard play there, family and friends who have... more

Its a fair amount of money to take a cab here, and unless you see a name act, you might bein for a bit of a lengthy stay. You cant talk and cut up, cuz the music is loud, and they wouldnt allow it anyway. Its a real small place, and if you dont care for the two artists who... more

We visited the Bluebird on Thursday, June 1, 2006. ("We" are a musician and an afficionado. We aren't newcomers to the club scene.) Since the Bluebird makes such a big deal out of its "Shhh!" policy, we were looking forward to an evening of music without chitchat from the crowd. Dick Siegel opened. If you ever have an opportunity to... more

I went for a Thursday early show (no cover) and had a great time. I didn't make reservations and was lucky enough to land a seat at the bar (it paid to be EARLY). The place fills up quick! It is a very small place and elbow room is hard to find BUT - - The music was great! Of... more
