Please avoid this place, especially if you have been to Disney or any Six Flags park, as you will be even more disappointed than average. All my life I've heard that Dollywood was a charming, ole-timey amusement park. Instead, it's full of gaudy shops and restaurants. Many of the places to eat were not even open during Christmastime. Most of... more

Most people think of going to Disney for Christmas, but we really enjoy Dollywood. They have a fantastic Christmas extravaganza, and without the crowds of Disney. We like to rent a timeshare (we like the Wyndham Smokey Mountain resort in Sevierville, just minutes from Dollywood, and nicely inexpensive through http://www.redweek.com). There's also downhill and cross country skiing nearby if it... more

Senior citizens went specifically for the lights and shops. VERY DISAPPOINTED. $100 for the two of us to enter the park - stopped twice for pictures. On our way out, the line was so long, we never saw the pics. Carol of trees was disappointing. But the BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT was the train wasn't running. Apparently this is NOT unusual. People... more

My wife and I had a terrific time in Dollywood! There is a play in the theater called She-Kon-A-Hay ( I'm sure i've mispelled that one). We expected some small backwood hick type play. To our amazement it was Broadway quality. The singers were top notch and the theatrics and gymnastics were absolutely mouth dropping. The entire crowd gave a... more

We visited Pigeon Forge November 6th thru 12th, 2009. Dollywood was a hilite as the Christmas Spectacular started November 8th, and it was perfect!! The shows were amazing and the decoration of lights also added brillance to the upcomingChristmas season. In a time when the immoral of our country are bashing every Christian symbolism, Dolly Parton and famly showed their... more

We went to the park at the end of August. It was great. There weren't any lines at all. The prices are a bit expensive, but we bought our tickets online ahead of time and they included a free meal. There was a wide variety of rides for younger kids as well as older kids. I didn't get to go... more

As a fan of Dolly and from the UK, just had to go to Dollywood, I thought it was expensive before I went and was a bit put out that there are no discounts to get in, after being there, I would still say it is overpriced. The rides (bigger ones) were great, my 10 year old loved them but... more

We drove all the way from New England in October to enjoy Dollywood as part of our auto trip. Unfortunately we were not impressed. The park is closed Mondays and Wednesdays so weekday admissions are limited. We planned to visit when it was open at 9 A.M. to see a Gospel show, eat breakfast and tour the park. Admission is... more

Four of us, all retirees visited Dollywood in September 2009. We were so lucky to be in the Smokey Mountains during a four day break between two horrendous rainy periods. We were undecided whether to visit Dollywood or not, thought it might be a bit over twee, and it was competing with the glorious scenery of the mountains. So glad... more
