One of the Smokies most underrated attractions. Parrot Mountain is located off the beaten path in a secluded area behind Dollywood. The road leading up to the entrance is very steep and the gardens themselves are hilly. Dozens of parrots of various types are featured, both in cages and sitting on posts. Many can be fed and there are tiny... more

I can't recommend Parrot Mountain enough! When we visited on a Monday afternoon in mid-September, we were one of only three other parties visiting so we had lots of one-on-one time and interaction with the birds. The self-guided walking tour allows you to view many types of caged birds including toucans, kookaburras, parrots, cockatoos, macaws, and hornbills. Parrot Mountain is... more

What a beautiful place to visit! I would recommend that anyone who visits the area (Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge) take the time and visit. From the moment you drive up the steep hill (yes, it is very steep) to the parking lot and step out of your vehicle and are greeted by all of the birds sitting on perches along the... more

They didn't name it Parrot Mountain for nothing! The attraction is located on a mountain and you will drive up a very steep incline to reach it and you will park on an incline as well, but it is well worth it! The grounds are lovely and the birds are exquisite! You will be walking up hill as you go... more

First thing you should know is....the driveway to enter Parrot Mountain appears to go straight up! Made for an interesting entrance. The park is fun. My kids paid an extra $2 each to feed Lorries nectar but they are on you like flys on poop--so it scared them a little and dropped the nectar. Considering the price of everything else...it's... more

We recently visited Parrot Mountain and Gardens. My hubby and I are bird lovers, but even my kids loved it! We were able to hold and feed several birds. The whole property is beautiful. The only down side was a very rude lady that worked there, but we didn't let that bother us. We really liked the part at the... more

We have visited the Smoky Mountains at least once a year for many years after I was introduced to the place during my college years at E.T.S.U. I thought we had "been there, done that, and bought the tee shirt" with every attraction in the area until my seven-year-old grandson found a brochure on Parrot Mountain. He was very insistent... more

There were some red flags that I ignored on the way to get to Parrot Mountain, such as lack of traffic, Parrot Mountain signs that had roadside growth in front of them, etc. We will never go back. The incline of the pathways are so steep. We had a wheelchair to push. The birds are great, but the developer really... more

I can't say enough about this place. An awesome experience it was. We went for the first time in March and then again recently. My daughter is 10, and she tells everyone about it. The birds are gorgeous, and the hands-on experience you get is unforgettable. The staff is also very friendly. I would recommend this to anyone! more

We love Parrot Mountain. The first time we went without the kids, because we were on a little get away by ourselves. We knew from how beautiful it was that our teenage girls would love it and we were right. They loved it so much they didn't want to leave. It just so pretty there and all the birds are... more
