I've been in a few caverns and the Forbidden Cavern was a very accessible. Be sure to take a sweater and wear pants. It's about 58 degrees in there and quite damp. If you are looking for fun outdoor (technically underground) natural things to do while in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Kodak area, Forbidden Caverns may be for you. If you are able to walk up and down some slight ramps, up and down some steps and don't mind being in a cave, you will love this very beautiful and interesting experience. Perfect for... more

If you enjoy a bit of cave exploring, you will probably like Forbidden Caverns in Sevire county just east of town a few miles.
