The CCC cabins are great if you prefer a step up from the tent, but still want the camping experience. We drove the 3 hours from San Antonio with our two kids and stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin near the softball fields. Plenty of trails easy enough for a 6 year old to maneuver with just enough challenge. This...

We spent two nights here over spring break, and we would love to return! The sites are spaced out nicely so that you aren't too close to your neighbors. Fishing wasn't great since the lake is so low, but our boys enjoyed going through the motions anyway. We enjoyed the trails. Bathroom/shower fascilities were kept clean the entire duration of...

Great park to visit for the day or to stay longer in an RV or cabin. Great fishing, walking trails, and facilities.
Tranquil setting for camping. There are several shelters, large trees and nice bathroom facilities. There are also several cabins.
It was so hot during August, great place to visit just to cool off!

We went around Christmas 2010 and had the park to ourselves. The 2-person cabin was fine, but basic, as advertised. We had a kitchen, but no pots, plates, silverware or microwave. A thin, hard double bed with thin pillows and a couple of blankets. The window unit AC/heater was loud, but warmed the place nicely. Exactly 2 sets of towels...

Camping at Lake Brownwood was a great experience. Not sure where the last camper who reviewed stayed because there were trees everywhere. The womens restroom was okay. I think it is probably an older facility. Campsite number 67 was a larger campsite and had a great view of the lake. Ground were clean and free from debris.
