We enjoyed a fun day at Homestead Heritage. Had an awesome meal at the cafe and saw the cutest newborn sheep.

Great food, great products and a cool view at a different way to live. When we came, we saw a dad teaching his kid to play guitar and people harvesting wheat. Its just a good way to spend some time

Whether your looking for instruction in 'back to basics' living, looking for exquisite one-of-a-kind furniture and crafts, or hoping for a wholesome, organic lunch, Homestead Heritage is a place one shouldn't miss. There is a "general" store near the highway that offers gardening, kitchen, and other 'homesteading' equipment at reasonable prices - including seeds, water filtration systems, and grain mills,... Homestead Heritage is a community which follows - and sells - the simple life. The blue corn meal (and many other varieties), the pecan-sorghum ice-cream, home made cheese, the amazing meals in the restaurant, the handcrafted furniture and pottery will impress you and make you reach for your wallet. The annual festivals showcase the communities way of life but strolling... More

Homestead Heritage is a farm, craft village, and great cafe. The craftspeople are on hand to explain as well as demonstrate their pottery, weaving, iron working, etc. The mill grinds several types of flour, and sells the flours and mixes (get a free cookie sample!). The farm itself gives visitors great ideas to take home to their gardens--a rocking compost... More

My husband and I spent the day here with a friend and were struck with the friendliness of the folks who run it and the attractiveness of the facility. We toured the store where I purchased grits and cornmeal made with BLUE corn! We also roamed the lovely grounds viewing the pottery workshop, fiber shop, woodworking shop (my husband loved... More

The 3 day fair following the Thanksgiving Holiday offers an excellent opportunity to views the life of this religious community. We had the opportunity to take part in a barn-raising, enjoy goats and rabbits in the petting zoo, and the chance to sample and buy arts and crafts (home-made soaps, jams, stone ground grains) after demonstrations of how they are... This is truly the most amazing experience seeing how life was 100 years ago. And the food is home style and organic. Grass Feed Beef and fresh Veggies...Deserts to die for...and ice cream make the old fashion way. It really is like turning back the clock 100 years to when food was real food and not processed and ruined. Try... More
