We have been here twice now while visiting my son in Fort Worth. It is a small museum but packed with unique artifacts and some entertaining exhibits for children. There is also a great antique clothing display at the end of the museum. A good way to spend a couple of hours when in the Fort Worth area.

I would not bother, Read a book or see a good movie about the Civil War and how Texas was involved.

This is a relatively small museum, but there was a great video on the involvement of Texas in the war and a surprisingly large display of artifacts and uniforms. Learned quite a bit and was pleased with having made the visit!

Great attraction! Clean, organized, well displayed, spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Many different items included in displays--books, flags, soldier belongings, uniforms, weapons, ammunition, medical instruments, models... The boys liked the scavenger hunt they provided, especially in the clue format rather than boring fill in the blanks like school papers. The scavenger hunt drew their attention to items and stories... More

This is a privately owned museum but it extremely impressive. It is divided so the North and South portions of Civil War Museum building display those artifacts from those sides of the conflict. What is truly amazing is that the museum doesn’t just display a weapon or an article of clothing but names tells all about the man that property... More

The Texas Civil War Museum is, sadly, a relatively unknown resource of history in the metroplex. The exhibits rival some of the National Parks/battlefields in the country. The battelflags are amazing and the interpretation is a southern perspective so don't expect to hear how horrible Texas and the South was...you won't. On the down-side, the aesthetics on the interior could... More

This is a private museum that has amassed a collection of Civil War memorabilia that matches or beats similar museums I have visited. There is the usual display of weapons, and personal effects and a good video. What I really appreciated was the detailed explanations of the displays. Showing me a rifle without an explanation is just boring, but with... More

Not many people know about this museum. A lot to see and the staff was incredibly friendly and informative. Worth the drive and the time. We will go back and take friends with us.
