We went to see the submarine and ship tours. They have picnic tables and playground, and grills. Great for watching for dolphins, seeing the ferry cross, and watching the fishermen. The port o lets are called "Pot O Gold" ha ha.

The hiring managers should have higher standards for their employees. There is graffiti on the ships which will disappoint any history buff. All that being said, it made me imagine what it was like to be in the submarine and ship while they were operating.

In one place visitors can climb through a WWII submarine, see the sail of a Cold War submarine, and go all through a destroyer escort from WWII. There is also a conning tower from another sub and soon another addition might be coming. Children can't believe how small the space on the sub is for eating, sleeping, and doing "business"... More

While in Galveston we toured the WWII Submarine and the Destoyer Escort. These two ships have been carefully restored, and visitors are able to go through most areas. The submarine was especially moving to go through, and see where the sailors slept, ate and worked. Gave us pause to think of what these men went through for our freedom.

Ages 17, 14, 12. Our kids loved crawling all over the ships and watching the barges go by. This is well worth a visit

My kids aged 6 and 7 enjoyed this. Having been in the Navy myself I was excited to be their tour guide and learn some things myself. It was really very neat. Only complaint would be the unsightly trash strewn about the shore near the ship. Someone should really pick that up :)

Improved over the years we have been going here. Best to go during the day. Night seems to bring in some uncomfortable people.

We went her after we finished a day of other tours on the Island they have a large aircondition submarine on grounds to go thru for a fee and a cute little park if you need to take a picnic but not really worth the drive.
