Houston is not a place you think of when you think theater, but as the Mayor likes to brag, it is the largest theater district in the US outside of NYC. The Alley offers a wonderful variety of dramatic options. It isn't the place for musicals (Theater Under The Stars or TUTS is where you should look for that) but... More

We especially enjoy the Alley Theater because of its smaller size. You can actually see and hear well from every seat in the Alley, unlike the other behemoths in Houston. My family has had the tradition of seeing "A Christmas Carol" every winter for the past 20+ years and we just love watching the performance here.

Alley puts on a variety of productions but one of the best is A Christmas Carol, which they put on every year.

The Alley is a wonderful old theatre (actually 2 theaters). Just saw a play, "The Seafarer" last week, which was amazing. Great acustics, easy to hear and see from all seats. Not too big so the audience can fee a part of the action. Loads of offerings during the year.A nice place for a great night out.

Went to see The Santaland Diaries here just before Christmas. This is a great little theatre with good acoustics and because it is in the round, you feel part of the play. The choice of plays is also a bit quirky and that appeals to me. I am always on the lookout at what is new here. There are two... More

The Alley is a great venue. Not a bad seat in the house - all in one tiered space, no balcony. There is an attached parking garage with Event Rates and several near-by restaurants. Real quality theatre and entertainment.

Our favourite part of the ridiculously hot summers in Houston is a large group outing to the Alley Theatre's Summer Chills. This is their annual mystery performance. We have been twice and the actors seem to be the same group but the performances are outstanding. The sets are fabulous. The seating is very intimate. I book early and get my... More

Almost all seats are good seats. Good acoustics. Close to good places to eat and park. Unusual, sometimes confusing layout.

For the past two years we had season tickets and enjoyed many different stage performances. We canceled our tickets this year only because we decided to see some other venues.
