This place is mediocre at best. While there are a small number of rides and informative displays; everyone in our group left the place feeling like we'd been ripped off. The tram rides were lame because the sound system was turned so low you couldn't hear a word of what was being said, so it ended up feling like you... more

We were visiting from the UK and staying with family who had already been to the Space Centre, when asked what it was like we got a very non -commital 'Its worth a visit, we'll let you make your own mind up!' So off we went and yes it is a worth a visit but it is also quite disappointing.... more

I worked at Johnson Space Center for over 10 years, and have never had a better job. Everyone there works there for their passion for spaceflight - certainly not the money! It's a government-run institution, so there will be NO frills there or high salaries - just basic necessities to get the job done. But what a job they do!... more

We visited the Johnson space center in august and the whole family enjoyed it. They have lots of kid exhibits and our five-year-old loved playing mission control. One thing to keep in mind is that in the summer they split their regular tram tour into two separate tours to accomodate the large crowds so we wished we would have known... more

The JSC is worth a visit. At the same time it's disappointing, because it could be so much more. The Center seems more geared toward entertainment than education, perhaps evidence of the "dumbing down" of American culture. Also, it seems more a museum to past accomplishments than a learning center oriented toward the present and the future. The physical layout... more

I live in Houston and everytime we have out of town visitors, it seems like they ALWAYS want to go to this place. I warn them that they're going to walk away broke and disappointed, but they never listen. Invariably, they come back and report the misery of their experience. If I was on the Board of Directors, I'd demolish... more

Overall it was a nice, educational experience,it was a bit much like a Space Disneyworld. Since our visit fell on a weekend, there ewere no austronauts training in the facilities which made it less exciting, although the site of the Saturn rocket made up for it. Standing in 99 degree heat outside in various lines again was in stark contrast... more

I've been to the space center four years with my grandson. He's attended several of the summer spacecamps which are well done and worthwhile. The first couple years we enjoyed the tours, displays, and friendly staff. You can find great deals with online coupons. The gift shop is a money pit- so are the photos and a virtual "shuttle ride"... more

I went to Johnson Space Center with my 3 1/3 and 6 year old on a Saturday. Huge mistake! It was so crowded. Too crowded to be safe. The interior is filled with movie themed activities such as a jumper and rope course, which have nothing to do with NASA, and are only remotely reflect science's influence on movies. The... more

Some of the criticism on Trip Advisor came from those who were really into the history of the space program as the Space Center tour is rather light on the techie stuff. For those of us who are less inclined, my family really liked it. Seeing Mission Control and the Saturn V rocket were teriffic. The staff was quite friendly... more
