Great get-a-way park with lake (canoe rental), trails, camping (showers & cabins), and community pavilion. 10 minutes from grocers and supplies. Best during cool weather (this is Texas). Well maintained. Entry closed at night.

Great place to camp. Alligators, canoes, raccoons, squirrels, bike trails, hiking trails, lots of trees. Really pretty little place. But seriously watch out for your dog - they really do have alligators.
Great place to take the family. Nice and quiet, park is kept clean and it is really pretty place to camp. Horseback riding a plus. Canoe rentals and a swimming lake in summer
I went camping there this past weekend with my family and had a great time. It was my first time camping so i did not know what to expect, but that staff was friendly & helpful and aswered any questions i had. The park itself was beautiful, lots of trees and right on a lake. They have paddleboats & canoes...

This is a nice park, with awesome shelters. They have 30 amp hookups at the shelter, so it was great to park our rv there. We were there during a huge rainstorm, so cant speak to a lot of the amenities. Love their camp store. Unlike other places, the prices are not inflated. You can buy firewood, 10 pieces for...

Beautiful walks, interesting wildlife, had a great time with the family.
Visited Huntsville State Park with large group. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Park was busy but expected for this time of year. Plenty of hiking trails with many birds and the on-site Nature Center was friendly and informational. Alot of tree's have fallen or been cut down due to the recent drought in Texas. Also, prior burns/forest fires were...

My husband, son, and sister all recently visited the Huntsville State Park for the first time in ages. We live in the surrounding area and don't get to the park very often. Admission to the park is $5 per person - even for our 4 year old. Some parks charge by the car, but this park does not. Which is...

A great place to either camp or ride your bike. The bike trails are great.
Really is beautiful here, but it is really crowded on Sundays especially. I've tent camped, day tripped here and rode bikes...great trails for bikes, BUT be warned, it's hot/humid in the summer. (and there are alligators, but they keep a good distance from humans)
