This attraction is located close to the Battleship Texas. The battleground is laid out pretty well with markers to show where the Texas and Mexican forces were located. I really enjoyed the monument and it's exhibits, but they charge $5 - $6 for everything, including entrance to certain exhibits in the monument, and entrance to the elevator to go to the top of the monument (and the views are only 270 - not 360). I finally made it out to the San Jacinto monument southeast of Houston. Definitly something you should not miss. It adds a lot of perspective to the Alamo and Texas history. more

I recommend visiting the San Jacinto Battleground park, but you must pay additional to enter or see many of the notable things. But the park itself is very enjoyable. Don’t overlook it. This is a must see. Go to the top of the monument for a view of the area. (elevator only) watch a movie about the history of this area and gaze at the historical exhibits for hours. Interesting and very well maintained. When your done here go over to the Battleship Texas on the same grounds and take the tour.... more
