We enjoyed the Wood Duck Trail today. It was 88 degrees and you could feel it when you crossed open meadows but the majority of the trails wound through heavily wooded areas where the shade from the canopy made our walk very comfortable. The trails are well marked which is good because the map isn't fantastically helpful. We passed by... more

The Heard offers walking trails, a wheelchair accessible path ,a small nature museum., and examples of native plantings. If you live close by you may take advantage of the many science classes they offer to children. The beauty of the trails change according to the season. Special events including the annual native plant sale are popular. There are volunteer opportunities... more
