Funny that the review beneath us concluded the second half of the above line. Bermuda has phenomenal natural beauty to see, and besides her friendly citizens, is the point of traveling to Bermuda in my mind. The Dockyard had its practical purposes decades past, and has been converted into a cruise-ship docking space, and the restaurants/shops followed, possibly fooling some... More

Caveat: We didn't visit the museum. We may have had a better experience if we had. We arrived by bus from Warwickshire....very pleasant. The military architecture of the Dockyards is interesting to observe. The ships and Maritime equipment was also of interest. My recommendation: Spend about 1 hour walking around and then get on the ferry to Hamilton. The glassworks... More

A nice way to spend half of an afternoon. Incredible military naval history contained within the walls of this fort. Lots to see, lots to take pictures of and wonderful views of the harbor.

With the Carnval Pride in dock hubby and I were surprsied this place wasn't bustling with people and events. The Snorkel Park was empty and the bar area and food portion were closed. We walked around but the place was very dull, not waht we had envisoned.

Loved the idea you could take a bus to this attraction and enjoy a day of shopping, dining and a movie. Meet interesting people because the cruise ships are docked here as well. Really enjoyed taking in all the sights.

The historical aspect of this area is very interesting. The shops, as expected, were exactly what passengers from the cruise ships would want.

It was nice and very easy to get around. The shops were just okay, no high -end stores, not many good boutiques to shop at. Good to see for visitors alike.

Very pleasant to stroll around the area and read the markers that identify the buildings or historical areas. Interesting shops and restaurants and marina.

Skip the touristy shops and cruise ship "attractions" and head for the Naval Museum. (Try to go when there are no big ships in port). Plan to spend at least two hours touring the grounds, the Commissioner's House, and the amazingly beautiful and historic site. Well worth the $10 admission (you can even watch the Dolphins from the grounds).

The Dockyard is basically a stopover point for cruise ship passengers, developed specifically for tourists. A few clean and reliable restaurants, gift shops and small attractions like the glass works and Maritime Museum. Leave some time to stroll around as you go or return from other venues, it is worth a little time just to see what's there. One important... More
