We stopped in briefly while waiting for the ferry to Hamilton and were surprised. It was almost like experiencing Forest Gump's box of chocolates with a different surprise in every room we entered at the restored Commisioners House (think of a three story stone office building). There is a coin room, a currency room, a slavery room, a U.S. Navy... More

Bermuda is more than beautiful beaches and warm hospitality. To truly appreciate the history and culture of the Island, visiting this museum, now expanded and renamed the National Museum of Bermuda, is a must. Exhibits show how the Island was settled by diverse groups of people over the last four hundred years, with a room dedicated to each population group.... More

Bermuda's history is synonymous with maritime activities. I think this must be the largest of all museums in Bermuda. Be prepared. Every aspect of Bermuda's maritime history and then some is covered here. It is contained in several historic buildings at the Dockyard. It's worth going to. It's just a lot to see and try to absorb. There are some... More

Bermuda's history is all in the seas around it, The maritime heritage that made the Island more than a speck of limestone on an ancient volcano is here

The Museum is a well-maintained exhibit. Professional all the way! Many different types of exhibits which display the vast history of Bermuda. Lots of stairs but there is an elevator in the building to help. The grounds where the Museum is located is an old British Fort. Many of these buildings are being renovated and are in a somewhat state... More

Not very interesting. Lots of maritime items. I would have preferred walking around Hamilton than wasting $10 USD for admission.

I was reluctant to spend the admission fee for this, not being much of a museum 'chick'. My husband went twice before we finally decided that it not only was a great museum, it makes a satisfactory tourist destination for when we've had visitors, therefore we joined under a family membership. Each time we've taken guests we see something new... More

My husband and I rented a small place near The Old Royal Naval Dockyard and were so impressed with this museum. Room after room was filled with fascinating artifacts and history -much of it strongly connected to America's Civil War. The Museum is beautifully maintained. We were so impressed that such a small island had gathered so many artifacts. Bermuda... More
