Sadly, Farpointe Cellars closed in January of 2012.

We have often shopped at Farpointe for many types of wine, and the guys in the bottle shop are friendly and knowledgeable. They have often offered (and we accepted) the "instant chiller" they have on premises to chill down a bottle of champagne/dessert or white when we were bringing it immediately to an event. The prices are mostly reasonable, and... More

Like any place the service can be hit or miss. Usually the staff in the wine bar are fairly friendly - mostly with the regulars. They may or may not be as knowledgeable as the guys in the retail section but the one thing Farpointe has going for it is the selection - not a huge selection, but I've never... More

Most so-called "Wine Bars" sell you grocery store swill for $10 a glass, but not this place! We did the weekend tasting - Champagne and Cabernet. I had a flight of Cabernet - 5 tastes at 2oz each for $20, with the wines ranging from $20 to $60 a bottle at the shop next door - every wine was terrific.... More

Their weekly wine tastings are terrifiic. How terrific? I drive over an hour to taste at Farpointe rather than the numerous much closer veneus. Honestly, the store has a broad range of prices and wine styles, and they will track down that obscure bottle your friend told you about. The wine bar is staffed with knowledgeable people who can help... More

I've been going to Farpointe for a couple of years now, and it has rarely disappointed. The store has a wide selection of wines, many of which you won't find at other wine specialty stores. The staff is a knowledgeable collection of people who truly enjoy wines and are happy to listen to what your tastes are and point you... More

My husband and I love Farpointe. The wine selection is amazing, the staff is like family, and the food portions for the price are out of this world. You really get the feeling of "Cheers" when you walk into Farpointe. The staff knows you by name and always remembers your favorite glass of wine, and are always more than helpful... More

I'm not sure what wine bistro some of these reviewers were at, but it certainly isn't the Farpointe I have enjoyed for over two years. The flights are generous. The staff if young, friendly and knowledgable. A single women can come in alone and feel safe and welcome. This is, and will continue to be, why first choice when I... More

I read both reviews and thought maybe this place had gotten its act together and improved from the review in 2007. I was wrong. Staff was very unfriendly and wine on their flights were bad. The two of us each chose a different flight so we could try twice the wine. Out of the 10 SMALL samples we were given... More

Visit Farpointe, the store has a very large selection of very unique wines from all over the world. The staff is very knowledgeable (my favorites are Trey and Simon) and can help you find the wine that you are looking for, even if you are not really sure what that is. I can always go in there with a fairly... More
